The Retreat Village complex comprises three distinct structures surrounded by lush greenery: two main buildings housing 12 units and a dedicated yoga shala. The central courtyard, accentuated by the soothing sounds of a fountain, further enhances the serene atmosphere, making it an ideal setting for restorative activities.

Located between the two major buildings, the 156-square-meter yoga shala is the focal point of the complex. This pavilion provides a beautiful backdrop for yoga and meditation exercises as it looks out over the verdant courtyard. The open layout facilitates easy integration with the natural surroundings, guaranteeing yogis a peaceful and engrossing experience. The roomy layout of the shala supports a range of wellness pursuits and cultivates a deep sense of tranquility and harmony with the natural world.

The Octagon is a multipurpose, flexible building that complements the yoga shala. It expands the retreat’s capacity to accommodate small parties and wellness events by converting into a restaurant, event room, or indoor yoga area. This multipurpose area improves the retreat experience overall by giving visitors a variety of options for unwinding and participating in the community.

The Retreat Village, which is raised on stilted foundations, places a high value on protecting the surrounding environment and reducing its ecological impact. The decision made by Stilt Studios to “lighten the impact on earth” is consistent with this design choice. Prefabricated building components and responsibly sourced materials are used in the project; wood is prioritized in particular because of its capacity to store carbon. The 3×3 meter grid-based modular system is used in the construction process. This method offers significant customization options and effective steel cutting to accommodate a wide range of user requirements. The woodwork, which includes the walls, floors, doors, windows, and other intricate details, is also made of modular prefabricated components. This approach produces precise outcomes while maintaining tight quality control and speeding up construction.

Stilt Studios considerably lowers the building’s carbon footprint during construction by streamlining procedures and cutting waste with prefabrication methods. Retreat Village’s architectural style is characterized by this harmonic blending of luxury with environmental awareness, offering a comfortable yet sustainable living environment.
