David Bastos Architects is a Brazilian architectural firm based in Salvador and São Paulo. The firm is medialized around residential architecture. Under the leadership of the founder, David Bastos, and director, Rita Monteiro, two teams have been formed for managing the work. Team BA consists of Architect-Partner, Yuri Van Roger, and Interior designer-Partner, PanmelaAlvim, while Team SP consists of Architect-Partner, Tadeu Oliveira, and Interior designer-Partner, Maianah Coin. The material palette, as well as the resemblance of the projects with the environment, are emphasized in the design.

The beach house, designed for a couple who loves to be surrounded by their closed ones, has a contemporary likeness with stone and wood adding textures on the façade. Overlooking the pool, the interior smoothly merges with the surroundings displaying the sensitive approach.

2. Casacor 2014

Location: São Paulo
Typology: Exhibition

Architect David Bastos exhibited his work on an area of 80 sqm for Casa Cor 2014. The project focused on a functional environment with the concept of receiving, divided into a dining and living area. It showcased an amalgamation of classic and contemporary artwork and materials that added personality to space. The inspiration for the alluring ceiling came from the Sistine Chapel. Moreover, the rug with the geometric pattern and the chandelier above the dining added charm to the space.

The wooden beach house naturally blends with the surrounding, creating a perfect atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The organically shaped stairs harmonize well with the wooden structure and the surrounding.

The apartment’s interior catches the attention of the visitors. On the white interiors of the living and dining space, the colorful ocean animal’s mural with some patches of blue resembles the ocean. The white furniture adds to the elegance of the interior.
